I am a HUGE Iron Man fan. Have been since I was a kid. It probably has everything to do with the technology involved, the varieties of armor and the abilities that they give Tony Stark. Check out this article posted on io9.com that talks about a Steampunk version of Iron Man. I thought it was a great take on the character, combining the character of Jarvis along with the history/lore of Iron Man together into the world of Steampunk. The result is a cool story and awesome suit of Iron Man armor. If you’re a fan of Iron Man and/or Steampunk, take a look.
I love that NASA is thinking ahead and not letting Einstein and his pesky laws of physics hold them back too much. I LOVE starship design. So many facets to take into account. So many technologies and philosophies to incorporate! I love NASA’s designs here. Mostly I love that they’re still looking ahead, still dreaming of what won’t be a reality within our lifetime. Because you have to start thinking of these things sometime, and I’m glad we’re doing it now.
Last night Elon Musk and SpaceX announced the arrival of Dragon V2 (version 2), the most innovative form of spaceflight since the space shuttle. I’m truly amazed by what engineers can do these days. I marvel at their skill, ingenuity and an unwillingness to accept failure. Thanks to Musk and his team humanity will be able to venture back into space again very soon. We are not a species to be landlocked to our planet. We are a species that must venture back into outer space. Dragon V2 is the next step to let us do that.
I love this spacecraft. I love human ingenuity.
I dream again of mankind traveling in space.
